The Team

At Chelsea Court Place, we know first-hand how important good care is for helping our residents achieve the best possible quality of life. That’s why we take pride not only in the care that we offer but also in our staff, who provide exceptional care. We have a team of highly experienced people on hand to provide valuable help and support to residents at all times. Most importantly, we always ensure that the care we provide is bespoke and appropriately tailored to each and every individual. 

Christine Bunce, General Manager

Christine is originally from San Francisco Bay in California and has worked in healthcare both in the States and in the UK. She trained as a clinical psychologist in California and after graduating, moved to London where she began working for St George's NHS Trust as a senior clinical psychologist and the manager of a community mental health team.

Inspired by visiting her great-grandmother in one of San Francisco's first assisted living communities, Christine decided to pursue a position in elderly care. Her previous experience in this sector, combined with her training in psychology and mental health, provides the perfect background for Christine's unique knowledge and experience of dementia and memory care.

Most recently, Christine was the general manager at Coombe Hill Manor Signature Senior Lifestyles in Kingston, a residential care and nursing home with a separate 24-bed dementia facility. She was a finalist at Surrey Care Awards for Care Home Manager of the Year.

Mwaya Siwale, Head of Memory Care

Mwaya has a BSc Honours degree in Dementia Studies from the University of Bradford, where she also completed a course in Dementia Care Mapping. Mwaya is part of the Eden Alternative Associate, which focuses on natural therapies for dementia care. Her accomplished background enables Mwaya to provide a holistic approach towards dementia care.

Gabriela Zackova,Head of Wellness

Gabriela Zackova has over 13 years of nursing experience spanning acute, senior and palliative care. Her previous positions include deputy manager at Brendoncare foundation, A&E nurse, Clinical Lead in a private home in Southwark and specialist advisor to Care Quality Commission (CQC). With a degree in Law with Psychology, Gabby dedicates her spare time working as a Legal Advisor for a charity which provides free legal advice to the citizens of Czech Republic and Slovakia.Gabby is a very experienced Dementia Care Mapper and researches the subject at Kingston University. Gabby is an exceptionally caring person; she is passionate about providing outstanding support and enriching the lives of those in her care.

Matt Dodge, Executive Chef

Matt has previously worked at the Savoy Hotel, Sunrise Senior Living and Signature Coombe Hill Manor. His philosophy is to create classic and simple modern dishes that inspire residents to recall happy memories of family dinners and Sunday lunches. He is keen to serve highly nutritious food that benefits the health of residents. Matt is a former winner of the South East heat of Care Cook of the Year in 2015 and runner-up of the UK Care Cook of The Year category.

Alex Morte, Head Chef

Alex was awarded the National Association of Care Catering (NACC) Care Cook of the Year in 2016, and also won the highly commended Main Course award. He previously worked at Signature Coombe Hill Manor in Surrey. He enjoys working in the care sector and providing nutritious food to meet the needs of individual residents and aims to ensure that every meal is an enjoyable dining experience, while providing residents with flavours and smells they have grown to love throughout their lives.
