Burns Celebration

Burns Celebration

We all very much enjoyed a fantastic time celebrating the life and poetry of Robert Burns at our Burns Lunch celebration. It was an actioned-packed afternoon of traditional Scottish fun.

We all very much enjoyed a fantastic time celebrating the life and poetry of Robert Burns at our Burns Lunch celebration. It was an actioned-packed afternoon of traditional Scottish fun.

The very talented Dixie Ingram played the bagpipes and addressed the haggis, which was enjoyed by all, with a wee dram of whisky for the brave (hearts)!

Gordon Morrison shared a story about Robert Burns and Sarah-Jane Bailes serenaded the guests with her beautiful singing.

Tartan was the resounding theme; from bowties and waistcoats to kilts and ribbons, even Nelson the dachshund was even sporting his finest tartan collar. Our residents also made tartan wreaths to hang on their doors.

And no celebration at Chelsea Court Place is ever complete without a feast and our chefs certainly didn't disappoint with their delicious Scottish menu! We were spoilt for choice; Scotch broth, beetroot glazed Scottish smoked salmon, traditional haggis & whiskey sauce served with traditional neeps & tatties, finished with raspberry cranachan cheesecake – a full house of clean plates!

Thank you to all of our friends and family for joining in on the Scottish fun. We are looking forward to sharing many more celebratory lunches with you.
